Mental Health Inpatient Treatment: What to Expect

Your day is structured with therapy, meals and activities. Every day has a theme, such as regulating emotions, goal-setting and building healthy relationships. Your daily activities may include:

  • Process groups: The therapist tailors each session to the group’s needs. This helps you heal with the support of others.
  • Psychoeducational groups: These cover different topics, such as medication management, illness education and anger management.
  • Music therapy: you create music, art and movement to foster healing and express your emotions.
  • Recreational activities: Staying active supports your mental health. We have a gym where you can exercise and play games like basketball and cornhole.
  • Meals: Our private dining room has a variety of hot meal choices and a salad bar. We can accommodate dietary restrictions.
  • Phone time: We have phones you can use to contact friends and loved ones.
  • Visits with family and friends: You can see your loved ones twice a week and once on weekends. Visits last one hour. If an in-person visit isn’t possible, virtual visitation is an option.
