Being a kid isn’t easy. Your child may be dealing with a range of issues, from bullying to school anxiety. We can help. Our child and adolescent inpatient program helps young people ages 10 to 17 manage mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety and ADHD. We take a whole-person approach and tailor treatment to your child.
Inpatient Treatment at Clarion Psychiatric Center: Why Choose Us?
You or your child may feel nervous about inpatient psychiatric care. At Clarion Psychiatric Center, you’ll find a supportive, empathetic environment. Our compassionate staff treats your child like family. You can trust they are in good hands.
Highlights of our program include:
- Skilled care providers: Our staff includes master’s-level therapists, social workers, a psychiatrist, a medical doctor and a nurse practitioner. They work together to help ensure your child gets the care they need.
- Family involvement: We provide family therapy so you can actively participate in your child’s recovery. We also offer visitation twice a week and once on weekends. Each visit is one hour. Remote visitation via a tablet is also an option.
- Child-centric environment: Children and adolescents require specialized care tailored to their needs. They receive treatment in a dedicated unit of our facility, separate from adults.
- Discharge planning: We work with you to create an after-care plan for your child. This helps them transition back to their life after inpatient care. Our planning includes setting up appointments with outside providers.
Some of the services we provide to help your child have a fulfilling, productive experience:
- Academic support: During the school year, we offer schooltime each day with a certified special education teacher so your child can keep up with their schoolwork.
- Pet therapy: We have two emotional support dogs that visit participants once a week.
- Recreational facilities: We have a gym, where your child can exercise and play games, and an outdoor courtyard so they can get fresh air.

- Psychoeducational groups: These include medication education, illness education, coping skills and anger management techniques.
- Structured gym activities: To get some movement and bond with other participants, your child plays games, such as basketball and cornhole.
- Music therapy: Your child learns how to express their emotions through music, art and movement therapy.
